This Privacy Policy explains how Quran Caption collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the application and related website.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, Quran Caption may collect or process:

• Account information, such as your Quran.com account identifier, if you sign in with Quran.com
• App usage data, such as feature usage, errors, and diagnostics
• Technical data such as app version, operating system, and crash logs
• API data retrieved from Quran Foundation services
• Audio files you explicitly submit to cloud-based segmentation or alignment features
• Community style presets and related metadata that you explicitly choose to publish or share

Quran Caption does not collect more data than necessary for the app to function.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• provide app features
• let you sign in to supported Quran.com services
• sync or access user-related Quran.com features, if enabled
• process user-requested cloud segmentation or alignment tasks
• provide community features when you choose to publish or download shared styles
• improve app stability and performance
• fix bugs and provide support
• protect the app against abuse or misuse

4. YouTube API Services

Quran Caption uses YouTube API Services, including the YouTube Data API, to allow users to upload videos directly to their own YouTube channels.

When you connect your Google account, Quran Caption requests authorization to upload and manage videos created through the application. Depending on the permissions you grant and the features you use, Quran Caption may process Google OAuth authorization credentials, YouTube channel information, and the video files and associated metadata you choose to upload.

This Google user data is used only to authenticate your account, perform the YouTube actions you request, maintain the connection when authorized, and provide related application functionality. Quran Caption does not access Google user data for any other purpose and does not collect your Google account password.

Google user data and authorization credentials are retained only for as long as necessary to provide the connected feature or meet legal obligations. They are protected using reasonable technical and organizational safeguards against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.

Quran Caption does not sell Google user data or share it with third parties for advertising purposes. Data is disclosed only to Google and YouTube as required to complete actions you request, to service providers where necessary to operate the feature, or when required by law. It is not used for advertising.

You can revoke Quran Caption's access at any time through your Google Account security settings. You may also contact us using the details below to request deletion of Google user data retained by Quran Caption.

Quran Caption's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Local Storage and User Content

Projects, subtitles, styling settings, exported files, and related content may be stored locally on your device. You control your local files.

6. Sharing of Information

Quran Caption does not sell your personal data.

Information may be shared only with:

• Quran Foundation / Quran.com services, when needed for API functionality
• service providers used to operate the app or website, such as hosting, analytics, cloud processing, or error monitoring providers
• legal authorities, if required by law

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. However, no system can be guaranteed to be fully secure.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Local files remain on your device unless you delete them.

When a valid deletion request is received, data controlled by Quran Caption and linked to the requester is deleted within 30 days, unless a longer retention period is required by law, necessary to resolve a security or abuse issue, or needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. In those cases, only the data necessary for that purpose is retained for the applicable legal or operational period and then deleted.

Aggregated or anonymized information that can no longer reasonably be linked to an individual may be retained for analytics and service improvement.

9. Your Rights and Data Deletion

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data.

To request deletion of data associated with Quran Caption, email zonedetec@gmail.com with the subject Quran Caption data deletion request.

Please include enough information for us to identify the data you want deleted, such as:

• the Quran Caption feature or service involved
• the email address or account identifier involved, if applicable
• the community style or other content you submitted, if applicable

Do not send passwords, API keys, access tokens, or other authentication secrets in your request. We may ask for reasonable verification when necessary to prevent unauthorized deletion requests.

A deletion request covers personal data controlled by Quran Caption that can reasonably be identified as belonging to the requester, including applicable account-related data, stored authorization data, submitted community content, and associated identifiable usage or support records. Local projects and files stored only on your device are not stored by Quran Caption and must be deleted directly from your device.

Data held independently by third-party services or accounts is governed by those services' own privacy and deletion procedures. This does not affect deletion of copies, credentials, or related data that Quran Caption itself controls.

10. Children's Privacy

Quran Caption is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law without parental or guardian permission. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in violation of applicable law.

11. International Transfers

If data is processed by third-party services outside your country, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
