Managing Assets

Assets are the files you use in your projects, such as video and audio files. In Quran Caption, you can manage your assets in the `Video Editor` tab. Here, you can import new assets, view existing assets in the project, delete assets you no longer need, and even download a recitation directly from a YouTube video.

Managing Assets

To import a new asset, click the `Import` button. This will open a file picker window where you can select the file(s) you want to import. After selecting the files, click the `Open` button to add them to your project. The imported asset will be displayed as shown in the image below.

Note: Ensure your video files have a constant bitrate (CBR) for the best synchronization with captions. For long videos, using a variable bitrate (VBR) can cause the captions to become out of sync.

To delete an asset, hover over the asset you want to remove and click the `-` button.

If an asset has been moved, deleted, or renamed, a warning icon will appear next to it. Use the `Relocate asset` button to update the file path.

You can also download a recitation directly from a YouTube video. To do this, click the `From YouTube` button. This will open a section where you can paste the YouTube video's URL. Choose a download directory by clicking the `Select download location` button, decide whether to download the video or audio only, and then click the `Download` button. The recitation will be downloaded and added to your assets.

That’s it! You now know how to manage assets in Quran Caption. You can add them to your project timeline by clicking the `Add to Timeline` button.
